Fin de la Michat
I am assuming (and I might be wrong on this, but) you're most likely here because almost every single page tells you to "check out the 'fin de la michat' " but that's because when I want the story to hit you, I want it to hit you the hardest.
You might already know about the already established Michate monarchy. But if you don't;
The already established Michate monarchy
The year is 1900
The Michate, created in 1092 and becoming dominitive in Monzvergian politics 30 years after, had flaws related to age. The conquering of the Ninzians/Aragbians (southerners, conquered in 1832) was a military victory, but it was hard to implement all these people (who rivaled and detested the Michate originally under Aragbians) into Monzvergian politics. They eventually did, but there were sentiments held.
In 1892, the Michour (King of the Michate) was born. The 13th. When Michour was 20, his father died (1912) and young and ripe XIII (13th) steps onto the throne. He redeems an alliance treaty with the failing Ottomans. The Monzvergians, for the last few centuries, were muslim ocean-superpowers. They had navies. They used such navies to rival Christian european ones. This was the MUIC (Monzvergian Unitionary Islamic Coalition). It was a major power at the time, and so XIII redeeming the alliance was both for...Alliance, but also for a good representation towards his people about "Monzverg still carrying the MUIC".
World War One
This would be considered the official beginning of the 90 year "Fin De La Michat" phase. In 1915, Michour XIII was called. The Ottomans requested he defend the Monzvergians against british attack within the middle east. Obviously, for his picture, XIII agreed. He began rallying soldiers for a final jihad against the british and they began growing in numbers (just like any ww1 superpower).
When the war began, Monzvergians launched a suprise attack on british-oman. The British lost and the Monzvergians reached a goal. The Monzvergians were winning.
Then, in 1916, the Ottoman empire had to withdrawal many of their forces to fight the tight caucasus and unstable gallipoli. Despite this, they still : gifted" the Michour the Laghas (an elite military familly capable of doing just more than fighting)
Because a large amount of troops were pulled out of the battlefield, Monzverg began to loose, leading to a loss of a lot of territory.
The british began to win.
At some point, the british almost entered Medina (near mecca) and this is where Michour XIII has had enough. He arranges a meeting with his highest men and begins scolding them for not winning him this war. At the same time, a british navire was captured by Monzvergians after crossing the red sea. The Monzvergians returned to their base with it and disguised it as a British ship. They then reached Haifa port (Palestine, by that point controlled by the british) and they began bombarding it. This slowed down the british attack. Eventually the british advance was pushed back to the levant, and then to the sinai. It wasn't just bombardements, as there was also an intelligence leak at the British, which the Monzvergians used to their advantage.
This image represents the current situation.
(Red being the british, the red lines meaning newly occupied territory, green meaning the ottomans and white meaning irrelevant. The arrows show where they are currently advancing.)
The Monzvergians eventually defeated the British, and a treaty was signed. From then on, there was the Monzvergian protectorates of Arabia. Which were really just Michatist puppets in the middle east.
Now, for the north and south divide
The north and south divide
I'll just quickly brief you on context.Basically, in the isle of Monzverg, there aren't just Monzvergians. There are Aragbians too (they call themselves Ninzians but we'll just stick to Aragbian).
They were more present in the south
They were also somewhat a rival to the Monzvergians. So when the Monzvergians conquer the Aragbians in the 1832 battle of Shamla, the Michour of that era had to find a way to make them "not hate eachother". That's when he looked at the Michate doctrine, though more specifically "Unitionaria" from the WC/CC section (Check out the Michatism page for more context).
The Michour fed the youth these ideals, and he also fed them the 'her, Monzvergia' propaganda, which is a personified version of Monzverg as a female (just like uncle sam for the US or Marriane for france.)
There were a few groups that didn't like that though....
The radical racist groups
Throughout the institutionalization of these ideas to the (now united) Monzvergian isle, there were a few groups that didn't like that. More specifically the GMU and the LLHM.
GMU stands for 'Greater Monzvergian Utopia', and LLHM stands for 'Long Live Him, Monzverg'. Both are radical, Monzvergian, nationalists who seek to remove the southerners from the Monzvergian isle. Both see the Michour as not only soft but spoiling the southerners, and both hate Unitionaria. One difference. GMU thinks LLHM is harsh, while LLHM thinks GMU is soft. Also, another difference, LLHM is inherently sexist. They dissaprove of the Her, Monzvergia propaganda, as they despise the idea that their country would be female (Hence the name, Long live HIM, Monzvergia.).
The presence of GMU and LLHM would appear in the form of criminals that live in the Oneked. The Oneked desert is important, so remember the name.
Think of them like the KKK
Now, for S.C.U.S.
In 1895, there was a woman named Anastasia Igorova that was born in Novgorod.
Her father, Igor was abusive.
So eventually in 1905 during the communist revolution, she and her family fleed towards the south. Not only to escape the chaos, but because her family were promised good jobs at the oil rigs for oil companies. She stayed there until WWI, where her region was devastated. She escaped south, planning to flee to Iran.
There was also this guy. His name is Rashna Mahmoudi. He was originally a farmer in Iran that maintained his family's farmland.
At some point, Rashna got tired of the famines and the extreme dangers of being a farmer during the unrestful era, so he escaped to the Ottoman empire. Specifically the levant.
At some point, when WWI hit, he was drafted to the caucasus, where he planned to desert.
He switched clothes, hopped on a carriage and was eventually going to reach Iran.
The thing was... Anastasia was also on the same carriage
Eventually, when they reached Iran, it was in turmoil, so they instead decided to escape to Monzverg.
And so they did (in around 1915ish)
THE BIRTH OF RASHNATOV
When Anastasia and Rashna reached Monzverg, they fell in love.
Rashna decided to go to the south, because it was more rural and agricultural than the north.
Rashna rented new farmland with all the money he had left, and he went farming.
In 1920, Rashna's son, Iskander Rashnatov Mahmoudi (Or just Rashnatov for short) was born.
Rashnatov eventually inherited his dad's farm after his death in 1939, and he continued the family business.
At some point, Rashnatov was informed about maoism, socialism, communism and how the soviet works.
He liked the idea of a classless state and more the idea that he could be leader, which is ironic.
So he went on to read the communist manifesto, study a lot about communism and capitalism and even stalinism.
Eventually, after trying hard enough, he landed himself a job at one of the government's propaganda centers. He became mostly an officer that spread unitionarianist ideals throughout the south.
At some point, he was going to make a speech at a factory, when he met two people. Aziz Mulal, and Ahmed Samali.
Aziz and Ahmed are actually both brothers, though both changed their last name because it was a racial slur towards southerners.
Now, Aziz was originally a priest. At some point he got less into religion and more into politics. He wanted to enter the ministry of foreign affairs. He was denied. Then he wanted to come back as a priest. He got denied by his bishop. Fuck
He stayed unemployed, delivering the food his mom makes to his brother, Ahmed.
Before the speech, Rashnatov had talked alot with these men about the ideals they had. Slowly but surely, they befriended eachother, and after the speech, they would meet up to discuss their opinions on matters and subjects.
Eventually, in the 1950s, Rashnatov created, with Ahmed and Aziz, the Socialist Communist Utopian Society (It was originally the Spanska Communist Utopian Society, but they didn't like the idea of tying their group to one state in the ENTIRETY of the south, so they just made it the Socialist Communist...etc)
Here's another very important part of the lore; The Fort Yasmineh' Massacre
Fort Yasmineh' was a very important and strategic fortress in the Oneked desert . Basically I won't delve too much into the lore, since it'll have it's own page anyway. This fortress was very important as what one would call a entrainment fortress. This fort, along with many others within the Oneked, was funded to train soldiers under the grueling heat for months at a time until they were deemed 'elite' or strong enough.
In 1941, LLHM scouts attacked the weekly supply convoy headed towards Yasmineh'. This means the fortress was cut off from the outside physically until they were re-supplied. The first week was rather easy. The men survived on rations and command strung up a way to re-supply via a meet-up. The thing is, not only did they not know they were being listened by LLHM-ers, but they also had a way to decode military code. Whether it was a leaked codebook or a double agent, the LLHM-ers deciphered the transmission from Command to the Yasmineh' communications and they, again, intercepted the convoy. The fortress still had to stay on rations. During week 2, there was a dysentery outbreak throughout many of the squadrons throughout the fortress, since there was barely any clean water left. By week 3, the deaths began. Cholera is also found. People get paranoid of the food, thinking it might be the cause for the sickness, but they literally can't do anything. Eventually, week 4 came and the soldiers were dying. The leading officer of Yasmineh' was (by this point) very paranoid and anxious. One day, one of the men working collapsed under exhaustion, while admitting they were a spy. No one knows whether he was genuinely a spy or not, but all we know is; he suffered the repercussions of one. He was immediately ordered to be executed by firing squad. After this execution, the entire fortress collapsed into cannibalism and just straight up chaos.
It was by this point that command realised that they were being listened in on by outsiders especially after getting 5 weekly supply convoys intercepted. They conjured a TOP secret plan to fly in food to the fortress.
Finally, after almost 5 week of rationing food to 500 people who trained EVERY day under the grueling sun, supplies were flown in. Easy solution, something the LLHM-ers couldn't stop.
The Michour and Hitler
During ww2, especially right before the second battle of El Alamein in 1942, the Michour strung a deal with Hitler.
Because Hitler was getting dangerously close to the Michatist middle east, the Michour proposed to give Hitler oil. In return, the middle east doesn't get invaded
The Michour would disguise oil tankers as cargo ships and would send then to libya where it would get distributed to Germany through the axis networks.
This was sucessful, since the middle east... didn't get invaded...but these actions have consequences.
The Michour also did the same thing for Britain, since they were also eyein' up those oil fields in baghdad.
The beginning of foreign meddling
Around the end of WWII, the west realises one thing.
"Damn, that Michour sucka really ain't opening up his damn oil rigs for investing and stocks and buying and capitalism and iphone....we should literally fund his death
So from the late 1940s, the US began funding resistance programs in Monzverg.
This was the GENUINE fall of the Michate.
Now, there's one thing. All of these stories I explained to you? The Hitler oil deals...The southern divide, the LLHM-ers and GMU, SCUS, Yasmineh' fortress...All of these tie like a knot.
All of these were used AND EMPHASISED as propaganda to make the Monzvergians hate their leader, the Michour, the Rashad.
And it worked
Around 1956, the first rebels form. They're called the Corp Revolutionnaires. The Revolutionnaires were mostly formed of many people. Whether it be SCUS-ers,LLHM-ers, GMU-ers, they all wanted one thing. The fall of the Michate. And the Michate responded. there were many crackdowns across Monzvergian districts and many protesters. The files and archives of the Yasmineh' catastrophy were leaked to the press and public, and the so were the Hitler trade plans. This lead the public to began detesting the Michate.
This is especially because the government is busy fighting the slowly growing revolt, making corporations in the south less inspected by CC/WC customs, meaning the more unstable it become, the more they can do whatever they want (exploit workers). And the more they exploit worker
